Linda (Barr) Minhinnett, 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2025. Although Linda had faced declining health in recent years, her passing was unexpected.
Born in Mansfield, Ohio, on September 9, 1943, Linda was the youngest of seven children of Jay and Eunice Wiedner Barr. On August 20, 1960, she married the love of her life, James Minhinnett. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised five children: James Allen Jr. (preceded in death July 7, 2020), Steve, Jenny, Dave, and Pete.
Linda was an avid reader who never went far without her crossword puzzle books. She enjoyed bowling and trips to play Bingo. Her competitive spirit and love of athletics were passed down to her children and became a cornerstone of family life.
She is survived by her children, Steve (Julie) Minhinnett (Richmond In.), Jenny Minhinnett (Connersville In.), Sharon Minhinnett (Ada, Oklahoma), David (Celia) Minhinnett (Clearwater Fl), and Pete Minhinnett (Connersville In); her beloved grandchildren, Lindsay Holdbrook, James III (Mabel) Minhinnett, Lauren, Brittany and Shelby Minhinnett, Jamie (Wessley) Massey, Bobby (Chavonne) Frasur; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Pat (Merle) Secrest; a brother, Eugene “Gene” Barr; sisters-in-law, Pam (Butch) Newton and Karen Heath.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband of 29 years James Minhinnett Sr., a son James Minhinnett Jr. an infant daughter Lee Ann Minhinnett and a great-granddaughter Scarlet (Charlie) Minhinnett; two sisters and two brothers, all of whom were waiting for her with open arms.
Linda preferred not to have a funeral service so the family will have a private service at a later time. Miller, Moster, Robbins has been entrusted with arrangements.
