Esmai Nycole Jordan was stillborn on April 11, 2026 at 6:48 am in Batesville, Indiana to her loving parents Devon and Raven Tevis Jordan.
She weighed 4 pounds and 4 ounces and was 18 inches long. She was loved beyond belief from the moment we knew of her impending birth. We couldn’t wait to meet her. We will always wonder what she would have grown up to be. But we are pretty sure Esmia would have been a gymnast, she loved to do flips and kicks in her mommy’s tummy. Esmai would most definitely have been a night owl like her daddy. We always thought she was going to be shy, Esmai tried to hide her face on ultrasounds. Esmai Nicole means “beloved champion” She will never be forgotten. But we know she is now our guardian angel.
Survivors include her parents, great grandparents: Paul and Judy Moore, David and Eunice Jordan, Kevin and Anne Trent; grandparents: Doug and Heather Howard, Paul Moore II; many aunts, uncles and cousins .
She was preceeded in death by her grandfather: Chris Jordan; grandparents: Hoggan D. and Kristy VanMeter Tevis, great-grandparents: Hoggan L. and Barbara Parrot Tevis, Oscar and Louise VanMeter, Wendy Perea Kurzendoerfer, Charles & Juanita Halstead Trent.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Dennis Perkins officiating.
