Garlin Back Jr., 74, of Connersville

Garlin Back Jr., 74, of Connersville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Garlin was born on January 5, 1952, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the oldest of two sons born to Garlin and Eula Mae Holbrook Back.
In 1982, he owned and operated the Classic Car Clinic in North Bend, Ohio, for over 10 years. In the late 90s, he moved to Connersville, where he was employed for over 20 years at Dave’s Collision Auto Body.
A man of deep faith and an ordained minister, Garlin pastored at True Way Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed attending church services and participating in gospel music. Garlin was well known in many churches as being a fine, finger picking guitarist. He also enjoyed going out to local diners, where he spent time talking and visiting with his many friends.
Survivors include his six children, Timothy (Kelli) Back of Bethel, Ohio; Rick (Candi) Back of Brookville, Indiana; Jessica (Kevin) Couch of Decatur, Tennessee; Jenifer (Michael) Shepard of Sunman, Indiana; Garlin Daniel Back III of Connersville; and Sarah (Brandon) Newell of Sunman; twelve grandchildren, Brandon, Christian, Destiny, Brianna (Matthew), Brayden, Makayla, Maddie, Dylan, Dawson, Jake, Hunter, Hannah; eight great-grandchildren; his brother, Raymond Back Sr., of Connersville; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Garlin is preceded in death by his parents.
Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Klette officiating. Burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery.
