Gary Alexander “Guts” Gray, 69, of Connersville
Gary Alexander “Guts” Gray, 69, of Connersville, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2026 at I.U. Health in Indianapolis, surrounded by his family. Gary had been battling acute myeloid leukemia since February 2025.
He was born on December 8, 1956, in Connersville, the son of Roy A. (Kilroy) and Carolyn Pate Gray. He grew up in Laurel, attended Laurel Schools.
He worked at McPherson Gas Station in Laurel, the Sparkle Car Wash, Cohen Bros. Metals, Ready Tool & Die, Meridian Automotive, and Siefert’s Seal Coating.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, camping and kayaking. He loved helping Brian build derby cars. Gary’s CB handle was Wild Alligator.
Survivors include a son, Brian (Hannah Rea) Gray and a daughter, Amanda Gray all of Connersville; three grandchildren, Braxten, Alexander, and Renesmee; several brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, two brothers, Michael and Robert; a sister Juanita Roberts and a nephew, Edward Davis.
Funeral services will be conducted by Eric Hopkins at 6:00 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2026, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home, where friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
