Pendleton District Welcomes New Lateral Academy Graduate

Pendleton, IN – On November 6, 2025, fourteen probationary troopers graduated from the 88th Indiana State Police Academy, Lateral Class. One of those probationary troopers is being assigned to the Indiana State Police Pendleton Post and will begin his next phase of training, which includes a 14-week field training period riding with veteran troopers. Upon successful completion of field training, the trooper will be assigned a state patrol vehicle and will begin solo patrol. 

These officers have already completed an eight-week academy, including more than 250 hours of structured training in law enforcement techniques, as well as hands-on training at the Indiana State Police Recruit Academy.  The curriculum included criminal and traffic law instruction, emergency vehicle operations, psychology, crash investigation, self-defense, first responder, and other general law enforcement-related training.

Trooper Logan Schneider is a native of Wabash, Indiana.  He graduated from Southwood High School in 2011.  After high school, Schneider continued his education at Ball State University, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. In 2016, Schneider completed his training from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and graduated as a member of the 209th ILEA Class.  After graduation, He began his law enforcement career as a Deputy with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, where he served for nine years before coming to the Indiana State Police.

Along with his law enforcement career, Schneider has also served in the Indiana National Guard for the past 15 years, currently serving as a Field Artillery Officer.

Schneider currently resides in Wayne County with his wife, Ashlynn, and their two daughters.  Schneider will be assigned the south zone, patrolling the counties of Henry, Rush, Wayne, Union, and Fayette.
