LIBERTY, IN – Local residents are invited to kick off the New Year with fresh air and community at Whitewater Memorial State Park’s annual First Day Hike.
Scheduled for Thursday, January 1, 2026, the hike offers a guided experience along the scenic Memorial Loop Trail. This moderate, 2.5-mile trail provides beautiful winter views and is expected to take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete.
Participants should meet at the Poplar Grove Shelter at 2:00 PM. State park officials recommend dressing in layers for the winter weather and wearing sturdy footwear. There is no additional cost to participate beyond the standard park admission fee.
