The summer high school basketball schedule is officially set, and the Connersville boys are among a large group of local programs heading to the Indianapolis suburbs next month. The Indiana Basketball Coaches Association and the IHSAA released the fields today for the 2026 Team Showcase events, which will feature more than 100 girls’ teams and over 200 boys’ programs from across the state.
These events are designed for offseason development and college scouting rather than hardware. There are no brackets or tournament champions. Instead, organizers place teams into pools to guarantee them four competitive games against unique, similar-caliber opponents they do not normally see during the regular winter season. Unlike typical summer travel leagues that use a running clock, these showcase games are played under standard high school rules with regulation 32-minute stop-clocks.
The area is heavily represented on the boys’ side of the schedule. Connersville will be joined at the event by sectional and conference rivals including Batesville, Greensburg, Rushville, Lawrenceburg, and South Dearborn.
The area girls’ field is smaller but features East Central and Greensburg
The girls will play first, running on Friday, June 19, and Saturday, June 20. Their games will be split between Fishers High School and Hamilton Southeastern High School.
The boys’ showcase, named in memory of Charlie Hughes, is a three-day event running from Friday, June 26, through Sunday, June 28. Because of the massive size of the boys’ field, games will be spread across three campuses: Carmel High School, Westfield High School, and Westfield Intermediate School.
Organizers expect to release specific pool matchups, game times, and court assignments for the Spartans and neighboring schools in early June.
