The Lady Spartans softball team (12–5, 9–1 EIAC) traveled to Batesville on Tuesday and kept their momentum rolling, extending their winning streak to seven straight with an 11–1 victory over the Lady Bulldogs (6–12, 1–9 EIAC).

Connersville struck first in the top of the second inning. Maggie Spurlock singled, and with two outs, Sydney Lainhart delivered an RBI single to bring her home for a 1–0 lead. The Lady Spartans added two more runs in the third. After a leadoff walk to Camryn Fox, she advanced to second on a passed ball and to third on a flyout. Fox scored on a single from Kournti Carpenter, who later stole home to push the lead to 3–0.

A six‑run sixth inning broke the game open. Connersville used four singles while capitalizing on three walks and a hit batter to plate six runs and take a commanding 9–0 advantage. The Lady Spartans added two more in the seventh to close out the scoring.

Taylynn Selby earned the win in the circle, allowing four hits and one run over six innings. She struck out five and walked just one.

Connersville finished with 11 hits. Carpenter, Lainhart, and Smith each recorded two hits, while McHenry, Fox, Carpenter, Lainhart, and Smith all drove in one run. The Lady Spartans also showed their speed, piling up eight stolen bases, including three from Spurlock.

Connersville is back in action tomorrow, hosting the Lawrenceburg Lady Tigers at 6 p.m.
