CONNERSVILLE — The Fayette County School Corporation has officially announced the recipients of the Difference Maker of the Year awards for the 2025-2026 school year. This annual program highlights the exceptional efforts of educators, support staff, and transportation workers who consistently exceed expectations to support the Spartan community.
The corporation established this initiative to celebrate the vital work happening across all school buildings and on the district’s buses. Recipients are chosen by their peers, making the award a significant professional honor that reflects the respect these individuals have earned within the district.
2025-2026 Honorees
The following individuals were recognized for their dedication to the students and families of Fayette County:
District and Specialized Services Whitney Gillman (Administration), Denver Steele (Transportation), and Todd Lee were recognized for their essential roles in keeping the corporation running smoothly.
Connersville High School and Middle School At the high school, Eric Myers received the award for certified staff, while Barb Reece was honored for classified staff. Connersville Middle School saw Heidi Rubendall and Conrad Alston recognized for their respective contributions.
Whitewater Career Center Rachael Hartsock and Brenda Dillon were named this year’s Difference Makers at the Career Center, representing both the instructional and support sides of the vocational programs.
Elementary and Early Childhood Education The corporation’s elementary schools were well represented by a dedicated group of professionals:
- Everton: Elizabeth (Lizzy) Molloy and Rachelle Butts
- Fayette Central: Nikki Thompson and April Wulff
- Eastview: Ali Allen and Deeann Revalee
- Frazee: Julie Judd and Tom Cooley
- Grandview: Carly Leach and Susan Kelley
- Little Spartan Preschool: Kathy Ammerman and Kelsey Towler
Local Partnership and Support
The Difference Maker program relies on the generosity of local businesses and organizations. This year’s sponsors include Leaders in Training (LIT), Superior Oil, Kona Ice, USLA, and Wilson, Lawson, Myers. Additional support was provided by Yaryan Eye Center, Connersville Veterinary Clinic, Majestic Care of Connersville, Grace Church, Crabtree Photography, and Chartwells.
School officials noted that these awards serve as a reminder of the positive momentum within the Fayette County School Corporation and the commitment of the staff to ensure every child has a champion in their corner.
