The 1999 Indiana Miss Basketball, April (McDivitt) Schilling remains one of the most decorated players in state history. Her high school accolades include being named a WBCA All-American, a USA Today second-team All-USA selection, and a finalist for the prestigious Naismith Award.
During her senior season at Connersville, Schilling averaged 22.4 points, 6.3 assists, and 4.1 steals per game. She led the Lady Spartans to a 25-2 record and a Class 4A semi-state runner-up finish. A four-year powerhouse, she departed Connersville with multiple school records, including 1,908 career points, 554 assists, and 446 steals.
Schilling’s success continued at the collegiate level with Tennessee and UC Santa Barbara, where she reached the NCAA Final Four and the Sweet 16, respectively. Following her college career, she trained with several WNBA teams.
Today, Schilling continues to influence the game through coaching, making a lasting impact on athletes at every level of the sport.
