Melissa Ann McCord, 60, passed away Friday, April 3, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loved ones after a tough battle with pancreatic cancer.

Melissa Ann McCord, 60, passed away Friday, April 3, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loved ones after a tough battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born April 18, 1965, in Connersville, Indiana, the daughter of Ralph C. and Patricia Ann (Kuntz) Padgett.

Melissa was raised in Connersville and later moved to Texas, where she met her husband, Raymond McCord ІІІ. Following his passing in 1997, she returned to Connersville in 2007.

Melissa was employed for eight years at Label Master in Chicago and later worked for seventeen years in the produce department at Kroger in Connersville.

She was a big NASCAR and Chicago sports fan and truly loved and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her three children, Amber Flynn of Chicago, Danyell McCord of Connersville, and Tyron (Megan) McCord of Chicago; eight grandchildren, with one on the way; a stepson, Raymond McCord IV; three brothers, Keith Padgett, Ralph David Padgett, and Michael Padgett; along with a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Anthony; her parents; her grandparents; her husbands, Raymond McCord ІІІ and Harry Jewell; and two sisters, Linda Sue Conrad and Kimberly Kay Parrett.

Funeral services will be conducted by Reverend Stan Howard at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home, where friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, Illinois on Friday April 10, 2026.
