John Michael Struewing, 72, of Connersville, Indiana, passed away on March 30, 2026. He was born on February 9, 1954, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Donald and Florence Mae (Guthrie) Struewing.

John attended St. Gabriel School and Connersville High School. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy for six years, receiving his discharge on March 16, 1977. During his service, he worked as a highly skilled welder, a trade that reflected his lifelong dedication to precision and excellence.

On August 25, 1979, John married the love of his life, Miriam Marie Turner, in Orange, Indiana. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. John was a devoted member of South Christian Church in Mooreland, Indiana.

Throughout his life, John worked for several companies, including Randall Textron, Stant, Federal Steel, Johnson Controls, Struewing Trucking, and DNA Genetics of Cambridge City. No matter where he worked, John took pride in doing every job to the best of his ability. He was known as a perfectionist—someone who believed that any task worth doing was worth doing well.

In his free time, John enjoyed working with his Ham radio and, most of all, spending time with and supporting his grandchildren. His family was the center of his world, and he took great pride in each of them.

John is survived by his loving wife, Miriam; his children, Shelia (Jeff) Browning of Rushville, John (Mackenzie) Struewing II of Connersville, Steven (Lisa) Ruble of Connersville, and Misty Ruble of Connersville; and his cherished grandchildren: Alyssa, Taylor, and Landon Browning; Kylena (Jeremiah) Cummings; Deacon, Laikyn, and Sutton Struewing; Devin (Brandi) Ruble; Ashley, Sara, and Carmen Ruble; Josh (Shelbey) Ruble; Brittany Fullenkamp; and Shania Robbins.

He is also survived by his sister Dottie (Vince) Adams and brothers-in-law, Bill Russell and Danny (Brenda) Turner; sister-in-law, Mary (Rod) Lawrence.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Florence Mae Struewing, and his sister, Donita Russell.

John will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his attention to detail, and his deep love for his family. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Dale Cemetery. Minister Adam Henderson will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the Fayette County Honor Guard. Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
