Heather Lee Marcum of Liberty, passed away on March 19, 2026, at the age of 51. To know Heather was to know a true force of nature—a woman who lived life with the fuse lit and never backed down from a challenge.

She was a firecracker in every sense of the word. She had a heart of gold, especially when it came to her family and her beloved grandchildren, who were the center of her universe. She also possessed an unshakable love for animals; she was the kind of person who would never let a creature go hungry or unloved.

If you were someone she cared about, she would give you the shirt off her back without a second thought. But, as anyone who knew her well could attest, she was a true “FAFO” kind of girl. While she was fiercely generous, she didn’t suffer fools; if you crossed the line or pissed her off, she wouldn’t just take that shirt back—she’d rip it off and shred it right in front of you.

She lived life unapologetically, on her own terms, and with a spirit that couldn’t be tamed. She leaves behind a legacy of intense loyalty, deep love for her family and a reputation that will be talked about for years to come.

She is survived by her mom Joyce White, daughter Taylor Marcum, son David (Jessica) Marcum Jr, sister Tawana Heaton, niece Martika Gillespie, grandchildren: Jasper Davis, Bailee Ezsol, Amelia Branson, Tucker Marcum, Evelyn Marcum as well as extended family and her friends.

Heather was preceded in death by her father Jay White, grandparents, nephew Joseph Gillespie, brother-in-law Daniel Marcum and her Uncle Bill Wiggins.

A celebration of Heather’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you honor Heather’s memory by making a donation to a local animal shelter.

Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home is honored to assist with Heather’s arrangements.
