William “Bill” T. Cox Jr., 62, of Connersville, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday morning, February 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He had been in failing health for the past five years.

One of five sons of William T. and Betty Trabel Cox Sr., Bill was born on December 22, 1963, in Connersville. He was a 1982 graduate of Connersville High School and went on to earn his Associate Degree in Electronics from Ivy Tech.

Bill began his career at D&M in Richmond, where he worked for several years before transferring to the Connersville plant, where he served as a supervisor. He was later employed at Palco Telecom of Shelbyville for over ten years and eventually worked for Cablecare Electronics until his retirement due to his health.

Bill was a man of quiet nature who found great joy in technical pursuits. In his leisure time, he enjoyed tinkering with cars and working on various electronic projects, with a particular talent for installing car radios. Though he often kept to himself, he truly cherished the time he spent with his family and participating in family activities. Bill attended Higher Praise Worship Center with his family for the past several years.

Survivors include two brothers, Garry L. Cox and Mark A. (Michele) Cox, both of Connersville; and three sisters-in-law, Becky Cox of Connersville, Serena Cox of Laurel, and Davida Cox of Richmond. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including Bryan (Sylver) Cox, Amber Cox, Corey (Michaela) Cox, David (Hettie) Cox, and Bria Cox, as well as a number of cousins.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wilbur Cox and Jerome Cox; and a niece, Sarah Cox.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Synergy Healthcare and Reid Hospice for their loving care during Bill’s final days.

Family and friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Higher Praise Worship Center. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Associate Pastor Dennis Perkins officiating. Burial will be in Everton Cemetery. Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
