Steve Bennett, 60, of Connersville

Steve Bennett, 60, of Connersville, passed away Monday morning, January 5, 2026, at Heritage House of Connersville, following a courageous five-year battle with brain cancer.

One of two children of Amos and Juanita Truman Bennett, Steve was born on April 20, 1965, in Connersville. He was a proud 1983 graduate of Connersville High School and furthered his education by earning an Associate’s Degree in Business Management from Ivy Tech.

On October 2, 2020, Steve was united in marriage at Growing Branches of Christ to the former Judith “Judy” Henry. Together, they shared a life centered on their family and their faith.

Steve was a man of strong work ethic, serving as a Production Supervisor at Stant in Connersville for many years. His previous employment included time with Spartech in Richmond and the DNR. Steve attended Trinity Praise and Worship Center.

In his leisure time, Steve was a passionate racing enthusiast. He spent many years racing flat drags at Liberty Speedway in Brookville and in Cleves, Ohio. A lifelong NASCAR fan, he cherished attending races with his family and friends, always cheering for his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt. Steve also took great pride in coaching his daughters’ basketball and softball teams over the years. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his loyal dog, Dolly.

Besides his wife of five years, Judy Bennett, survivors include three daughters, Whitney Bennett (Dennis Good) of Greenfield, Indiana, Cassie Bennett of Liberty, Indiana, and Mariah Hopper (Nathan) of Columbus, Ohio; a stepson, Caleb Henry of Connersville; and a grandson, Axle Pflum.

He is also survived by a sister, Michele (Tom) Witt; a sister-in-law, Sherri Henry; three nieces, Emily (Gavin) Wickes, Kristin (Jesse) Allen, and Alexis (Chris) Fox; a nephew, Zack Jackson (Hannah Lakes); and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Juanita Bennett; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard Sr. and Sharon Henry; and a brother-in-law, Richard Henry Jr.

The family would like to thank Heritage House for their kind support and care of Steve.

In honor of Steve’s wishes, a celebration of life will be conducted at a later date. Miller, Moster, Robbins Has been entrusted with the arrangements.
