The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch in effect from midnight tonight through Friday morning (expected end at 12:00 PM) across East Central Indiana and surrounding areas, including Fayette, Franklin, Union, and Wayne counties.
Key Details:
Rainfall Amounts: Several rounds of thunderstorms are forecast to bring 1 to 3 inches of rainfall, with locally higher amounts possible in heavier downpours.
Potential Impacts: Excessive runoff may lead to flash flooding along rivers, creeks, streams, low-lying rural areas, and roadways with poor drainage.
Travel Advisory: Use caution during the Friday morning commute. Slow down and avoid low-lying roadways, highway dips, and viaducts where water tends to collect.
Keep multiple ways to receive alerts overnight in case warnings are issued for your immediate area. Turn Around, Don’t Drown if you encounter water covering the roadway.
