Indiana Wesleyan softball took on Southern Oregon Monday evening. The Wildcats got out to an 2-0 start in the second inning when Sara Ruble of Connersville worked her way on with a walk and eventually all the way around scoring on a sacrifice fly by Morgan Yeater for the first run of the game. The Wildcats would score another run on a double by Maddie Martin that scored Danica Fuller from second base giving the Wildcats a 2-0 lead.
The lead would get trimmed to one in the bottom of the fourth inning when Southern Oregon pushed across a run a single with the bases loaded.
In the top of the seventh, the Wildcats got a little insurance when Sara Ruble singled to center scoring Emma Wiberg from second base to make the game 3-1; and that is your final as the Wildcats advance again. They are currently one of the final five teams left, and that will be trimmed to four by nights end.
Sara Ruble was 1 for 2 in the game with a walk, a run scored and an RBI.
