Myron W. Dickerson, the Hall of Fame basketball coach who led Connersville to the 1972 Indiana State Championship, passed away on April 12, 2026, at the age of 91.

Dickerson’s coaching career spanned 26 years, during which he compiled a total record of 380-158. He began his career at Royerton, where he led the team to a 129-37 record over seven seasons.

In 1966, Dickerson took over the Connersville program. During his six years with the Spartans, he won 93 games and five sectional titles. His tenure was highlighted by the 1972 state title run, which concluded with a double-overtime victory against Jeffersonville in the afternoon and an 80-63 win over Gary West in the championship game later that evening.
