William Doyle Amyx, 93, of Connersville, passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 13, 2026, at Heritage House of Connersville.

One of the children of William Riley and Sally Amyx, Doyle was born on September 29, 1932, in Jackson County, Kentucky. He graduated from local schools and later graduated from Barber College following an eight-month program.

A veteran of the United States Army, William served his country during the Korean War era. Inducted in May 1953, he served as a Corporal and Supply Records Specialist with the Ordnance Agency. For his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the M-1 Expert Badge. He was honorably discharged in April 1955 at Fort Sheridan, Illinois, and continued his service in the Army Reserves.

On April 25, 1952, Doyle was united in marriage at St. Gabriel Catholic Church to the former Charmagne Ann Wilkinson. Together, they shared nearly 72 years of marriage and built a life centered on faith and family until her passing on March 7, 2024.

Doyle was a man of remarkable work ethic. For 64 years, he was the owner and operator of his own barber shop in Connersville. As a self-employed barber, he was a familiar and friendly face to generations of residents, retiring after more than six decades of dedicated service to his community.

A member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Doyle lived his faith through his commitment to his community and his family. In his leisure time, he was an avid golfer and a member of Liberty Country Club since 1958, where he held many course records. Doyle was also an avid gardener, providing a bounty of produce for his wife, Charmagne, to preserve.

Survivors include a son, William Jeffrey Amyx and his wife, Carol, of Oak Harbor, Ohio; a daughter, Mary Ann Davis of Connersville; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren, all of whom were the pride of his life.

Besides his wife, Charmagne Ann Amyx, he was preceded in death by his parents, William and Sally Amyx.

Recitation of the Rosary will be conducted at 10:30 followed by visitation until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Burial with military honors will follow in Dale Cemetery.
