WHITEWATER VALLEY – State Senator Jean Leising, who represents a large portion of the Whitewater Valley including Fayette, Franklin, and Union counties, reported that her home was the target of an alleged pipe bomb threat on Saturday evening.
Senator Leising announced the incident on social media, linking the alleged threat to current political tensions regarding redistricting.
“Unfortunately, my house was the target of a pipe bomb threat on Saturday evening,” Leising stated. “This is a result of the D.C. political pundits for redistricting.”
Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the scene, including the Oldenburg Town Marshal, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, and the Indiana State Police (ISP).
Leising expressed her gratitude to the responding officers and confirmed that the situation was resolved safely, stating, “Thanks to the Oldenburg Town Marshall, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the ISP, all is okay!”
