Drivers on Park Road will soon see a major change to their commute. The Indiana Department of Transportation has approved plans for a new traffic light to be installed at the intersection of State Road 1 (Park Road) and the main entrance to Reid Health Campus.
This location, which is near the local truck route, will now have a new traffic signal to improve safety and manage the flow of vehicles. The light is described as “fully actuated,” meaning its operation will adjust with traffic flow to help keep cars moving smoothly on Park Road while also managing vehicles entering and exiting the hospital.
The project was officially approved by the state over several months, with the plan receiving its final sign-off in the spring of 2025.
Local drivers should be aware of the upcoming changes and watch for construction as the new traffic signal is put into place.
