Franklin County I-READ-3 Scores Show Strong Proficiency, Notable Gains

BROOKVILLE, IN – Recently released 2025 I-READ-3 scores show strong reading proficiency among third-grade students in the Franklin County Community School Corporation, with two of its three elementary schools posting year-over-year gains.

The I-READ-3 assessment, which measures foundational reading skills, saw impressive results from Brookville Elementary, Laurel Elementary School, and Mount Carmel School. Notably, Mount Carmel School achieved a perfect passing rate in 2024 and maintained a high level of achievement in the 2025 results.

Both Laurel Elementary School and Brookville Elementary saw their passing rates climb by more than six percentage points from the previous year, indicating a positive trend in early literacy instruction.

Brookville Elementary School

  • 2025 Score: 87.7% (71 of 81 students passed)
  • 2024 Score: 81.0% (51 of 63 students passed)

Laurel Elementary School

Mount Carmel School

  • 2025 Score: 97.3% (36 of 37 students passed)
  • 2024 Score: 100.0% (28 of 28 students passed)

The data reflects a continued high standard of early reading achievement across the Franklin County school district.
