BENTONVILLE, IN– One person has died following a two-vehicle collision Friday evening, one of two separate crashes to which the Bentonville Fire Department responded.
According to a press release, the fatal incident occurred at approximately 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of 400 North and 450 West. It is alleged that the crash occurred when one vehicle disregarded a stop sign and was struck by a second vehicle. The collision resulted in one fatality.
Earlier in the day, at 10:13 a.m., crews responded to another two-vehicle crash at Manlove Park Road and 700 North. In that incident, it is alleged that one vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by another vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Officials are reminding the public to use extra precaution on county roads. A statement from the fire department noted that intersections are becoming increasingly dangerous as crop growth is making it “extremely hard to see.”
The fire department thanked all agencies that assisted at the scene of the fatal accident.
