Connersville, IN – Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita will be the keynote speaker at the upcoming Lincoln Reagan Dinner, scheduled for May 8 at 6:00 PM in Connersville. The event will be held at Roberts Park, Miller Building.

The dinner, a significant event for the local Republican community, offers attendees an opportunity to hear from Attorney General Rokita on key issues and initiatives. Rokita, who currently serves as the Attorney General of Indiana, is a prominent figure in the state’s political landscape, having assumed the office in January 2021. He previously served as Indiana’s Secretary of State from 2002 to 2010 and as a United States Congressman representing Indiana’s 4th district from 2011 to 2019.   

Tickets for the event are priced at $35 per person. The dinner is expected to draw a crowd, including local party members, community leaders, and residents interested in engaging with to one man and one woman who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and support to the Republican Party. This award honors the legacy of R. L. (Dock) Haley, a pivotal figure in the party’s history.

About R. L. (Dock) Haley

R. L. (Dock) Haley was a respected local businessman and the owner of “The Haley Press.” He was born on July 2, 1922, and passed away on December 27, 1997. A World War II Army veteran and an accomplished magician, Haley was also Connersville’s youngest mayor, serving from 1956 to 1959, and later served as City Judge in the 1960s.   

Haley’s most enduring contribution was his leadership of the Fayette County Republican Party as chairman for multiple terms in the 1960s and 1970s. During a challenging period for the party, Haley’s humor, optimism, and leadership were instrumental in maintaining unity and momentum. He oversaw the establishment of party headquarters during election cycles and played a crucial role in laying the groundwork for the party’s future successes.

The Lincoln Reagan Dinner is a traditional gathering for Republican supporters, named in honor of Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan, both iconic figures within the Republican Party. These dinners are held across the country, providing a platform for party members to connect, discuss political issues, and rally support.
