NEW CASTLE, IN – Corey M. Bell of New Castle, Indiana, has been arrested by the Henry County Sheriff’s Department and is facing multiple felony charges in connection with the alleged distribution of child exploitation material. The arrest followed up at his residence on an action prompted by a tip from the Indiana Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding uploads on the KIK Messenger App.
The tip detailed 34 uploads of suspected child pornography, allegedly depicting pre-pubescent females engaged in sexual acts with adult males. Investigators traced these uploads, leading to the issuance of the search warrant.
During the search of the residence, where Corey Bell was present, a desktop computer in his room reportedly had the KIK Messenger App active. Authorities noted that Bell allegedly exhibited signs of anxiety during the search.
Following the search, Corey Bell was interviewed by detectives. According to court documents, he is facing numerous felony counts of Child Exploitation. Specifically, the court records indicate he has been charged with multiple counts under Indiana Code 35-42-4-4(b)(5)/F4, each carrying an alleged aggravating factor as outlined in 35-42-4-4(c)(1), and additional felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography under Indiana Code 35-42-4-4(d)(2)/F5, also with an alleged aggravating factor.
During the interview, Bell allegedly admitted that his KIK Messenger username matched several email addresses linked to the uploads and that he previously had an account on the platform that was banned. He allegedly stated he received child exploitation videos from other users and acknowledged allegedly sending out such material, claiming he believed it was “role playing.” He allegedly admitted to knowing the individuals in the videos were underage and that he deleted the videos after sharing them. Bell allegedly confessed to distributing child pornography approximately seven to eight times upon request, stating he did not receive payment. When questioned about his alleged motives, Bell reportedly responded, “because I am an idiot.”
Corey M. Bell’s case is currently pending in Henry Circuit Court 1. He was formally charged on May 2, 2025, and an initial hearing took place on May 5, 2025. A pretrial conference is scheduled for July 17, 2025, with a jury trial set for August 18, 2025.
