Alquina Blue Arrows Park Chosen for Indiana University Public Art Partnership
ALQUINA, Ind. – Alquina Blue Arrows Park in Fayette County has been selected as one of sixteen rural Indiana organizations to partner with Indiana University’s Rural Placemaking Studio for 2025. The park will collaborate with IU faculty and students to develop and install a new piece of public art within the park grounds.
Details shared on the Alquina Blue Arrows Park Facebook page expressed enthusiasm for the selection: “We’ve been selected to partner with the IU Center for Rural Engagement’s Placemaking Studio… This project celebrates what makes our community special and brings IU students and faculty together with the Blue Arrows community to create something meaningful and lasting.” The park representatives added, “We’re honored to be one of 16 rural Indiana communities chosen for this initiative—stay tuned for ways to get involved!”
The Rural Placemaking Studio, launched in 2024, is a collaborative initiative between the IU ServeDesign Center at the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design and the IU Center for Rural Engagement. Its mission is to link university resources with rural communities to enrich public spaces through innovative art and design, strengthening local identity and community ties.
