The Spartans traveled to Rushville to challenge the host Lions and the Franklin County Wildcats on Monday for the final meet of the season. The nearly perfect weather provided a truly beautiful day to run! The girls competed with a complete team and defeated Franklin County, but came in second to the host Lions. Cree Slater led the team with a 4th place finish (14:29), one second ahead of teammate Essmae Brewer in 5th (14:30). Riley Smith finished 6th (15:05), Leanna Paul was 11th with a personal best time of 16:58 and Melanie Jolley was12th (17:40). The boys capped their amazingly successful season in spectacular fashion, taking the top 5 places to post a perfect score. Leo Moyer recorded a record setting 9th first place finish in 10:37, he was also the EIAC champion. Desmond Shipman recorded a personal best time of 10:54 finishing second. Clay Glover was third (11:34), Noah Frost 4th (12:10 PB), Landon Bales 5th (12:18 PB) to round out the Spartan parade. Hunter Gregory posted a personal best of 13:12 to place 8th, Boyd Durstine 10th (13:21), Ryan Owens 12th (14:14), Andrew Biehl 17th (15:35), and Leighton Hauk 18th (16:22 PB) to complete the scoring. The boys ended the year with a shiny 10-2 record.
