🏆 HOMETOWN HERO: COMMUNITY GOSPEL CHURCH 🏆 When flooding hit our community, Community Gospel Church didn’t just offer prayers. They rolled up their sleeves and got to work. They gathered volunteers of all ages, collected and distributed free flood-cleanup supplies, food, hygiene and personal-care items, and helped make sure families had some of the basic necessities they suddenly found themselves needing. And that mattered. Because when your home floods, you aren’t just worried about cleaning up the water. You’re wondering what you’re going to eat, how you’re going to clean your home, where basic necessities are coming from, and how in the world you’re supposed to put everything back together. A bucket of cleaning supplies, a bag of food, shampoo, soap, toothpaste… those things may seem ordinary until you suddenly don’t have them. But maybe the greatest thing they gave people was the reminder that they weren’t going through it alone. Babies, kids, adults, elders, good backs and bad backs all showed up. Everybody had something they could give, so they gave it. Community Gospel Church showed our town what loving your neighbor actually looks like. Not just faith in words. Faith with work boots on. ❤️ And that is why Community Gospel Church deserves to be recognized as a Hometown Hero.

🏆 HOMETOWN HERO RECOGNITION 🏆

Today, I want to recognize Community Gospel Church as one of our hometown heroes.

This church doesn’t just talk about loving your neighbor. They show up and do it.

When our community was hurting from the flooding, they showed up with hands willing to work, backs willing to ache, supplies to give, prayers to pray, and hearts ready to serve. From babies and kids to adults and elders, it truly took the whole village.

Nobody asked who deserved help. Nobody asked what they would get in return. They simply saw a need and said, “How can we help?”

That is what community looks like.
That is what being the hands and feet of Jesus looks like.
And that is what makes a hometown hero. ❤️

Thank you, Community Gospel Church, for loving this community beyond the walls of the church. For showing up when it matters. For reminding all of us that when people come together with willing hearts, fishes and loaves happen. 🐟🍞
