
The Connersville Spartan boys’ golf team traveled to Union County on Thursday evening for a dual match with the Patriots at the Liberty Country Club. Union County’s Kameryn Reuss shot a round best 39 to help the Patriots edge the narrowest one stroke victory over Connersville 169-170. Connersville’s Aiden Gibbs and Talon Sherwood would shoot a 40 for their rounds. Trey Hughes finished with a 44; while Logan Young and Levi Marszelek both ended their rounds in 46 strokes.
For Union County, backing up Reuss to pick up the match win was Keegan Lathery with a 41 and Jackson McCashland finished with a round of 44. Landon Strait shot a 45 for the round and Nick Watterson would finish with a 47.
Connersville (1-1 in dual play) will be back in action next Friday, April 17 when they travel to Greensburg for an Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference dual match at 5:00 p.m. Connersville will play on Saturday, April 18 in Richmond as one of several teams competing as a part of the Joe Moehring Invitational at Forest Hills Country Club. The other schools listed as attending are Richmond, Hagerstown, Cambridge City Lincoln, Park Tudor, Northeastern Union County and Franklin County.
For Union County, they will be in action on Wednesday when they travel to Centerville for a dual meet with the Bulldogs at 5 p.m. at Highland Lake Golf Course in Richmond. Then they will also be in the Joe Moehring Invitational on Saturday, tee time is 9:00 a.m.
