John Pilgrim, 73, of Connersville, passed away Monday evening, February 16, 2026, at Heritage House of Connersville.

One of three children of John and Pauline Beaman Pilgrim, John was born on November 9, 1952, in Connersville. He was a 1970 graduate of Connersville High School.

On April 28, 1973, John was united in marriage at St. Gabriel Church to the former Matilda Homan. Together, they shared over 52 years of marriage and built a life centered on family and hard work.

John was a dedicated employee throughout his life, working for D&M and successor WCI before joining Freudenberg-NOK. Following his retirement from manufacturing, he continued to serve his community as a driver for Fayette County Transit.

John was member of New Heights Christian Church. His true love was spending time with his family. John was a familiar face at White’s Flea Market and in his younger years, he enjoyed the freedom of horseback riding. He also rode motorcycles the majority of his life. Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his family, and seeing his granddaughter always brought a special light to his life.

Survivors include his wife, Matilda Pilgrim; a daughter, Emily Rodriguez of Las Vegas, Nevada; and his granddaughter, Jasmine Rodriguez. He is also survived by a niece and nephew, Kim Meyer-Marks and Ralph McCormick, as well as several cousins.

John was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Betty Edmanson and Jackie McCormick.

A celebration of life will be conducted at Dale Cemetery at a later date. Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fayette County Animal Shelter or the Fayette County Cancer Society. Online condolences may be made anytime at millermosterrobbins.com.
