Lady Spartan gymnasts collect dual-meet win at CHS

The Connersville Lady Spartan gymnastics team collected a dual-meet win over a shorthanded Morristown team at Connersville High School on Monday.

Connersville’s Lillie Bischoff (34.3) took first-place in the All-Around competition for the Lady Spartans. Bischoff placed first in the Bars (8.425) and Beam (8.475) with a second-place on Floor (8.8), and third on Vault (8.6).

Alaina Daniels placed second in the All-Around (32.975) for Connersville with a second on the Beam (8.05), third on the Floor (8.775), fourth on the Bars (7.7), and fifth on the Vault (8.45).

Franklin County’s Rachell Ruf took fourth-place in the All-Around at 32.8 with a first-place finish on the Floor (9.225). Ruf took fourth on the Beam (7.675), and fifth on the Bars (7.6) with a 8.3 on the Vault.    

Union County’s Autumn Van Winkle placed fourth in the All-Around (31.55), with a second-place finish on the Bars (8.275), sixth on the Floor (7.775) and sixth on the Beam (7.15). Van Winkle tied for sixth-place on the Vault with Connersville’s Makilah Smith at 8.65. Smith took fourth-place on the Floor at 8.575 with a 6.175 on the Beam. Union County’s Eliana Bostik had a third-place finish on the Bars at 8.275 with a 7.375 on the Floor.

Northeastern’s Aubrie Irvine had a second-place finish on the Vault at 8.65. Connersville’s Serenity Hornsby had a fourth-place finish on the Vault at 8.55 with Lizzie Heis and Emma Jennings placing fifth on the Beam and Floor for the Lady Spartans at 7.625 and 7.875, respectively. Jennings scored a 6.25 on the Floor with a 3.825 on the Bars with Heis collecting a 8.1 on the Vault. Hornsby had a 6.525 on the Bars  

Remi Spicklemire, Morristown’s lone gymnast on the evening, had a fifth-place finish in the All-Around at 31.4. Spicklemire took first place on the Vault (8.9), with a third on the Beam (7.75), a sixth on the Bars (7.275), and a 7.475 on the Floor. The Lady Spartans combined for a 97.725 for the team win on the evening.  

Cora Nobbe had a 7.75 on the Vault for Connersville with a 7.475 on the Floor, and a 6.525 on the Bars. Emily Bischoff scored an 8.05 on the Vault for the Lady Spartans with a 7.275 on the Floor, and a 6.7 on the Bars. Chloe Free scored a 7.85 on the Vault and a 6.95 on the Floor for Connersville.

The Lady Spartans will host gymnasts from Columbus North, Franklin Central, Franklin County, Frankton, Kokomo, Lapel, Milan Morristown, New Palestine, Noblesville, Roncalli, Seymour, Tri, and Union County for the CHS Invitational at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 14.
