Cheryl Cockefair, 68, of Rushville

Cheryl Cockefair of Rushville passed away unexpectedly on Saturday January 3, 2026, at the age of 68.  Cheryl was born in Connersville, IN on February 21, 1957, the daughter of Harold and Shirley Pennington Judd.

When Cheryl was younger you could find her hanging out at the river or going canoeing. She also enjoyed camping and going to concerts.  She was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan and enjoyed listening to classic rock and roll. Her greatest pleasure came from spending time with her family.   She retired from Trane in Rushville in 2020 after several years of service and had worked for Ford/Visteon until they closed.

Cheryl’s memory will be loved and cherished by her daughters, Heather (Martie) Hobbs and Tera Chance; brothers, Buddy Judd and Dennis Judd; sisters, Vicki Flannery and Carol Halpin; grandchildren Mercede (Tyler) Heiber, Dakota Madden, Jacob Kennedy, Kelsey (Bradley) Fox, Brycen Watson, Corbin (Baylie) Watson, and Gage Watson; great grandchildren, Kamdyn, Rosalyn, Jaxon, Kydall, Makenna, Owen, Khloe, Delylah, and River; her longtime companion Tom Edwards as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Cockefair; a sister, Teresa Tanner and a nephew, Joshua Fannery.

Family and friends may gather at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8th Street Connersville, on Friday January 16, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 with the funeral service beginning at 6:00 pm
