Everton Volunteer Fire Department Hosts 12th Annual Fireman’s Festival Today

Everton, IN – The Everton Volunteer Fire Department is set to welcome the community to its 12th Annual Fireman’s Festival today, Saturday, June 28, 2025. The event will take place at 5495 South State Road One in Connersville and serves as a critical fundraiser for the department.

According to Fire Chief Chad Gronning, the primary goal of the annual festival is to raise funds for the department’s yearly budget, which allows for the purchase and updating of essential fire rescue safety apparel and equipment. This year, the department is focusing on replacing vital equipment such as ladders, hoses, nozzles, pike poles, and roadway safety systems, some of which are 25 to 30 years old.

A full day of activities is planned for the entire family. The festivities include vendor booths, a fried chicken dinner, and an Annual Car Show from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Everton Elementary School track and field area.

Attendees can also enjoy live music from Nick Winters, followed by Claypool Block. Other attractions include a beer garden, a quilt raffle, 50/50 drawings, and pull tabs. For younger visitors, there will be kids’ games, bounce houses, and pony rides.

New this year is “The Frustration Zone,” an old-time fair favorite where adults (18 and older) can take a sledgehammer to a car.

The event also provides an opportunity for community engagement. An Emergency Service Tent will host representatives from the Bentonville, Glenwood, and Everton Fire Departments, as well as Fayette County EMS, Fayette County EMA, and the Sheriff’s Department. Additionally, members from the Everton’s Lions Club will be on hand to discuss their finale project for the community.

The drawings for the large basket raffle will begin at 8 p.m.
