Franklin County Varsity Wildcats Clinch Victory Over Jennings County Lady Panthers Behind Strong Pitching and Timely Hitting

Both teams showcased strong pitching on Thursday, but it was the Franklin County Varsity Wildcats who emerged victorious, defeating the Jennings County Varsity Lady Panthers 3-1. Jillian Harris delivered a standout performance for Franklin County, starting in the circle and recording all 21 outs.

Emily Fellure was a force at the plate for the Wildcats, collecting three hits in three at-bats. Fellure’s offensive prowess included a solo home run to left field in the fourth inning, a single in the second, and another single in the sixth.

Jennings County Varsity Lady Panthers struck first when Maycie Ward hit a solo home run to right field in the bottom of the first inning.

Franklin County responded in the top of the third when Bailey Kaiser singled to center field on an 0-2 count, knotting the game at one.

The Wildcats then surged ahead in the top of the fourth, taking a 3-1 lead courtesy of home runs from Addyson Bischoff and the aforementioned Emily Fellure.

Harris was the starting pitcher for Franklin County. The hurler scattered 10 hits and allowed just one run over seven innings, striking out three and issuing no walks. For Jennings County, Arian Day started, allowing eight hits and three runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking one.

The Franklin County offense tallied 10 hits in the contest. As a team, they had 30 at-bats, scored 3 runs, and collected 3 RBIs. Bailey Kaiser went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Addyson Bischoff was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Other offensive contributions included Brooke Stang with a hit in four at-bats, Tiffany Billman going 1-for-4 with a run scored, Annabelle Hoff with a hit in four trips to the plate, and Macie Perleberg also contributing a hit in four at-bats. Jillian Harris drew a walk.

Defensively, Franklin County was flawless, committing no errors. Brooke Stang led the team with eight chances in the field. The Wildcats also successfully turned one double play.

Jennings County Varsity Lady Panthers accumulated 10 hits. Ward led their offensive efforts with three hits in four at-bats. Day also contributed two hits for the Lady Panthers. Defensively, Jennings County also played an error-free game, with Ryleigh Sporleder handling the most chances in the field with seven.
