CPD Investigating Fatal Crash on Park Road; Medical Emergency Believed to be a Factor

On Wednesday, June 24th, 2026 at approximately 1:40 PM, officers from CPD were dispatched to an unconscious male at Speedway, located at 30th St and Park Rd. Upon arrival, officers located and identified that the male had been involved in a motor vehicle accident and was in critical condition/unresponsive. Connersville Fire Department and Fayette County EMS arrived and provided life saving efforts and the male was transported to Reid Health Connersville. It was there, a short time later, that the male subject was tragically pronounced deceased.

Preliminary investigation findings are that the vehicle was traveling northbound on Park Road at a high rate of speed, continued in a north-west direction through the intersection of Park Rd and 30th St. The vehicle then left the roadway, traveling across the grass barrier on the south side of the Speedway lot, before veering left and making impact with the wall that runs along the west side of Speedway’s parking lot. It is believed at this time that driver had suffered a medical emergency while driving, which most likely led to the loss of control of the vehicle and ultimately to the accident. There were no other injuries or damage to private property reported. Further testing will be done in the days to come by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office to identify the cause of this accident.

At the request of the family, we will not be releasing the subject’s name at this time. This is to respect their privacy and allow proper notification to family members.
