FAYETTE COUNTY — The Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Law Enforcement Division is stepping up its presence in the Whitewater Valley this April, offering both essential safety certifications and a unique pathway to a career in conservation.
Shiloh Mast, a Conservation Officer and the Public Information Officer for District 9, says there are several upcoming events approaching and he is looking to have all interested individuals attend. Mast, who is also assigned to Franklin County, is working to ensure residents in the region are aware of these local opportunities.
Upcoming Hunter Education Courses
Area residents looking to complete their required safety certifications have three local options.
- Fayette County: April 11 at 8:00 AM — Manlove Park (6632 N. Manlove Park Rd, Milton)
- Rush County: April 11 at 8:00 AM — Rushville Conservation Club
- Union County: April 12 at 8:00 AM — Frames Outdoors in Liberty
Conservation Officer Hiring Seminar
For those interested in a career protecting Indiana’s natural resources, a specialized Hiring Seminar will be held at Manlove Park in Fayette County on Wednesday, April 15, at 6:30 PM. The DNR is looking to fill Conservation Officer positions in Fayette, Rush, and Decatur counties. During the seminar, officers will cover essential job functions, the application process, and provide tips for success for those looking to enter the field.
