Larry E. Berry of Hagerstown, IN passed away after a lengthy illness on March 3, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis at the age of 77.  Larry was born in Twila, Kentucky on September 18, 1948, the son of the late Eli R. and Ruth Tipton Berry.

Larry is a 1967 graduate of Union High School, College Corner, OH.  After graduation he went on to serve his county in the United States Army.  A  decorated Veteran of the Vietnam War, he received a Purple Heart, 4 Bronze Star Service Medals among various other metals/awards.

On May 22, 1969, while on R & R leave from Vietnam in Hawaii, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, the former Brenda Crabtree.  They shared 56 years of marriage prior to his death.

Larry was a 54-year member of Plumber and Steamfitters Local Union 661 of Muncie, IN and Local Union 440 in Indianapolis, IN.  He was known as a workaholic, always having to stay busy.  He had built several houses for his family.  When he wasn’t working on one of his many projects, you could find him relaxing by going to his favorite fishing spots and spending time with his family.  Larry was also known as a jokester, having the ability to bring joy and laughter to all.

His love and memories will be held close to the hearts of his wife, Brenda; son Robert Berry of Hagerstown; granddaughter, Whitney Merry of Hagerstown; grandson, Joshua Berry of Eaton, OH; and great grandsons, Bayden Jones, Travis Bridgeman, and Jackson Kelly all of Hagerstown.  He will be in the thoughts of his brother, Thomas (Toni) Berry of Liberty, IN; sisters, Janice (Phil) Cooper of Lawrenceburg, IN and Tina (Mike) McMahon of Centerville, IN, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Roland Berry.

Funeral services will be held at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8th Street, Connersville, IN, on Monday March 9, 2026 at 1:00 pm, where family and friends may gather from 11:00 am until the hour of the service.  Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery.
